About
Different staff will be writing posts on our blog, lots of us are getting involved so that you get to hear about all the interesting stuff we do at Shure UK.
Tuomo Tolonen joined Shure in 2005 and is the UK Applications & Product Planning Manager along with being a BEIRG Steering Committee member. Tuomo regularly advises bands on mics and as an RF specialist, often assists in large events and TV productions.
Tuomo likes a variety of music but sometimes finds it hard to resist playing air guitar to Pink Floyd’s Comfortably Numb especially when the Line Array system in the demo room is properly cranked up.
Tom’s association with Shure began back in 2007, working part time in the warehouse whilst gigging with London band, ‘Blah Blah Blah’. Once he realised that super-stardom had become elusive, his live touring experience and technical know-how resulted in a move to the Applications dept. He now deals with all technical enquiries relating to all Shure products.
Tom (for his sins) is a drummer, and although his old band is now dead and buried, he continues to play with a selection of bands. He is also known for his 20 mile daily commute to work by bike, come rain, shine, fog or snow………. so long as it doesn’t rain too much on his new haircut.
Kirsty Lamport is the Marketing Communications Manager and started at Shure in 2007. Before that she worked for the PR agency that helped launch Shure earphones in the UK and her love of everything Shure started from her first listen to the E5c’s back then.
She is an avid fan of live and new music, Kirsty attended her first gig aged 9 and never looked back. An Indie kid at heart, with a love of everything from Kings of Convenience to LCD Soundsystem, she happiest when heading out to a gig or when another delivery of online shopping arrives in the office.
Paul Crognale has worked at Shure UK for over four years. Starting in what was then known as Consumer Audio, Paul is now the Marketing Manager and also looks after Artist Relations with Tuomo Tolonen.
Much to the dismay of his colleagues, Paul does not play any ‘real’ musical instruments, and therefore is known to some as a part-time DJ & promoter with a particularly varied taste in music; but mainly involving house, disco, funk, dub & electronica with the odd bit of ambient music thrown in. Paul is also an collector of rare vinyl.
Sebrina has worked for Shure for nearly 3 years. Sebrina began working as a general Team Assistant and was recently promoted to Marketing and PR Assistant.
Sebrina’s love for music began at the tender age of 12 when she gained Sponsorship to attend The Italia Conti Academy Full Time, Britain’s oldest Theatre Arts School. She has since studied music as a personal hobby and regularly attends underground industry events for unsigned Acts. Sebrina likes to keep in the ‘know’ about upcoming artists from UK Grime to Pop and is a keen supporter of new UK talent.
Steve Coulter has worked for Shure for over 12 years. Mostly as Procurement Manager, then in Marketing while the new website was developed and is now enjoying a new role as Sales Office and Customer Service Manager.
Steve has been DJ’ing in his spare time since he left school 20 years ago, and has been resident at an extremely well known club in Central London since 2006. Steve is known in the office to have extremely commercial taste in music, regularly cries while watching X Factor and has also earned himself the nickname ‘Stevie C The Cheeseman’.
